Draco arrived safely in Salzburg yesterday, and he and Blaise are enjoying one another's company.

Since then, however, there has been something of a change in plans which I would like to discuss with you. Blaise and my daughter Søren will not be staying here much longer, preferring to retreat to our home in Venice. If he has your permission, Draco would very much like to accompany them.

The Venice property has two full-time servants and one house elf, and I will be dropping in regularly. The children feel they would have a much more enjoyable holiday there than in Salzburg, which I am sure is true.

The four of us will be returning to the Salzburg resort for two days at each full moon, for Blaise's safety and well-being.

If you assent, the children will leave for Venice immediately.

My name is Mirta Zabini, and my son Blaise is one of your Slytherins. I write to you with news, and with a request.

Blaise was attacked by an untransformed werewolf last month, of which I'm sure you are aware. At the time it was unclear whether Blaise would have to undergo the change. Now it is perfectly clear. My son is a werewolf.

I understand there is precedent for lycanthropes as students at Hogwarts, so I trust this will not interfere with his education. I do hope you will discuss this issue with the appropriate parties to make any necessary arrangements.

As for my request, I understand that you are now Draco Malfoy's legal guardian. He and Blaise have been very close friends for many years, and I ask your permission for Draco to join us for a brief time—a week perhaps, or two—in Austria.

I believe it will do both boys good. If you grant permission, Blaise will invite Draco personally.

PROPHET STAFF VANISHES

Magical Britain is in an uproar over the sudden and unexplained disappearance of hundreds of citizens. On Wednesday night, every single member of the staff of The Daily Prophet, Europe's most widely-read magical publication, vanished without a trace from their homes and the London-based Prophet headquarters.

Terrified family members of the missing persons are quick to place the blame on He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and his Death Eaters, and though it certainly seems a likely scenario, several facts about the phenomenon place the Death Eater theory on shaky ground.

Unlike the Death Eaters' many previous public attacks, this one resulted in absolutely no property damage, which is in stark contrast to the devastating destruction they usually leave in their wake. Also unlike the Death Eaters' typical modus operandi are the disappearances themselves—in all known large-scale attacks by You-Know-Who's henchmen, victims and casualties were left behind as a terrifying show of power. Though a vanishing here and there is nothing new, no mass disappearance like this has ever occurred.

The final—and most damning—point against Death Eater involvement is the lack of their Dark Mark blemishing London's skyline. In every single known Death Eater attack, the infamous symbol has been a clear indicator of their presence. This week, however, no Dark Mark has been reported anywhere in the British Isles, causing many authorities to question whether the Death Eaters can truly be involved.

While the Department of Magical Law Enforcement does its investigation into the disappearances, the thousands of Prophet subscribers have been left with no source of news. Only a few small weekly publications are left to fill the void created by the fall of the Prophet; of those, The Quibbler is the most widely circulated.

She's okay. She was injured but healed herself pretty quickly. She'll probably have a limp from now on, but she's okay.
